What it does on the arms
The small applicator strapped over the back of the upper arm makes the triceps contract in strong, rapid pulses through the session with HIFEM energy while synchronised radiofrequency heats the fat layer over it. The biceps are treated the same way on the front. The muscle thickens and the fat clears over the following weeks, and the arm firms and the soft layer at the back reduces.
What the study measured
In a 2023 study of the upper arms with four sessions, 25 people scanned at three months had the fat layer 25% thinner and the triceps 24% thicker on MRI, and satisfaction with the result was rated 85%. In the manufacturer's study for the US clearance, satisfaction was 94% at one month and 97% at three among 40 participants. The arm fat clearance is for skin types II and III (skin types run from I, the palest, to VI, the darkest) and a body mass index of 30 or under.
